Improving lives – that’s what LifeSpan has been doing since 1945.

We are a private, not-for-profit organization that offers many different programs and services that meet the needs of those of all ages, backgrounds and income levels throughout our community.  Our office is located in Hamilton, Ohio and we work to improve lives in southwest Ohio and additional surrounding areas.

We offer a range of innovative, cost-effective programs for individuals, families, groups, and schools serving people at all points in the span of life.

Through funding that we receive from the government (local, state and federal), grants and client fees as well as private donations we are able to provide these services to our community.

We are happy to provide information on LifeSpan to all who request it. Our most recent annual report can be found here. For information on our IRS form 990, click here or contact our finance department at (513) 868-3210.

History of Improving Lives and Empowering the Community

In 1945, LifeSpan began as a private, not-for-profit organization in rural post-war Hamilton, Ohio. In Butler County and all across America, communities celebrated the end of a war and faced the challenges ahead. Soldiers returning home to their families needed jobs, assistance, and support. To provide the needed support to these military families, a small counseling agency, Family Services of Hamilton was founded. It would later come to be known as LifeSpan, Inc.

As society rebounded after the war, the Baby Boom began and southern Ohio experienced dramatic growth. To assist with the new challenges families faced, LifeSpan added new programs to meet the changing needs of the community. The agency was also able to begin expanding into Warren County.

Today, LifeSpan’s programs reach thousands of people of all ages, backgrounds and income levels across southwest Ohio and beyond. LifeSpan has expanded to have more programs, staff, and offices than it had in 1945, but it remains focused on its mission of strengthening families and individuals who seek to improve the quality of their lives.
