Older adulthood should be a time for enjoyment and celebration after decades of work, raising a family and sometimes serving our country. Independence is a well-deserved reward and expectation of older adulthood, though aging sometimes creates challenges that get in its way. Health concerns and transportation limitations can impact independence but are not insurmountable. The Butler County Elderly Services Program (ESP) has long been a leader in providing the home-based services that can alleviate many of those challenges and ensure continued independence. The ESP is funded by a countywide tax levy and administered by the Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio. LifeSpan has partnered with ESP since its inception and oversees two ESP components: Intake & Assessment and Care Management. Our Care Management program has been identified by the Council on Aging as the agency of first choice to take on Care Management of the Title XX program.
