School Based Support Work
Many at-risk students are striving to find success in school and life despite the difficult circumstances which stand in their way. LifeSpan’s school based support workers are on site at many school programs in Butler County to help students remove the barriers to their academic success.

LifeSpan’s School Based Support Work program began in 1993 with just one support worker in one school and has expanded to impact hundreds of students annually in several school settings.

Services provided:
  • Counseling
  • Crisis intervention
  • Referrals to outside resources such as medical and dental care, food, clothing, housing, employment, or day care.
The support workers interact with students, their parents, teachers and school staff in a holistic approach to keep students in school, on track and striving to graduate.
