Every month hundreds of Butler
County residents use their telephones
to access important, free information
and resources through the Information
and Referral (I&R) services at LifeSpan.
I&R is targeted to older adults, offering
them rapid and effective responses to
their questions and, as needed, referrals to
appropriate community resources. The team
of nurses and social workers has more than
30 combined years of I&R experience as well
as extensive knowledge of the resources and
services available to older adults in the county.
- Information on everything from how
to get help paying for utility bills to
caregiver support groups.
- Referrals for callers who need more than
basic information. Referrals include
contact phone numbers, addresses and
general information that link callers to
appropriate community resources.
LifeSpan’s I&R staff members have
achieved specialized certification through
the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems
of Fairfax, Va. This certification allows them
to be more responsive and efficient in
handling inquiries.
