History
Countless people have improved their lives with the help of LifeSpan, Inc., a private, not-for-profit organization serving Butler and Warren Counties. LifeSpan’s roots stretch back to 1945, when many families were struggling with stress as they adjusted to changes brought on by soldiers returning from the war. A small counseling agency called Family Services, the forerunner of LifeSpan, was created in Hamilton to help ease the transitions. As Butler County experienced dramatic growth over the next 60-plus years with Warren County following suit, LifeSpan kept pace by adding new programs to meet the changing community needs. Over the years, LifeSpan’s impact on so many individuals has rippled into families, neighborhoods, schools, and businesses to make our communities healthier, safer and better places to live.

Now in a new century, LifeSpan has significantly more programs, staff and offices than it had at its founding but the commitment to its mission remains unchanged. LifeSpan’s success is due to the dedicated efforts of its compassionate staff, the visionary leadership of its board, prudent stewardship of its financial resources, and an unfailing commitment to remain responsive to the needs of the community. LifeSpan carries these attributes into the future with a continued focus on excellence.
